For Studios/Teachers

The Goal

Dance Teachers and Studio/School owners use E-DanceSport as a motivational tool to accelerate student training (and income).  As Dancers prepare for monthly competition and challenge entries, they will need more choreography and coaching from their Teachers.

Studio/Teacher accounts also receive a 10% commission on the fees for every video submitted – whether entered by the Teacher or by the Dancer – once their accounts are linked on the My Account page.  For each event entry, the Studio and the Dancer also have the opportunity to write in additional Teachers who will show up on the Global Leaderboard.

How it Works

  1. Dance Studio/School Owners and/or Teachers set up their professional accounts by signing up and adding their Studio/School details.  In My Account, they link to existing Dancer accounts or create new ones for Dancers they plan to enter for upcoming events.
  2. E-DanceSport announces new Challenges (ongoing skill building for any type of dancer) and Competitions (specific dance styles, music, or choreography to work with) monthly or weekly with specific guidelines and deadlines
  3. Teachers work with their Dancers to prepare and submit videos for these events.  Teachers can enter as many students as they like on each Event Entry page, by adding the Dancer’s name and details.  If the Dancer already has an E-DanceSport account, the details will auto-populate.  If a new Dancer is entered, a unique email address will be required and a Dancer account will be created for them to check their own results going forward.
  4. Studio/Teacher accounts are immediately paid a 10% commission on the event entry fee (in EDS coins) for each linked Dancer entry, whether submitted by the Teacher or the Dancer.  All linked Dancers’ event entries show up in My Account for tracking purposes.
  5. Professional Judges from around the world review the submissions and provide a score and encouraging, constructive feedback on every video (a super value for the entry fee, compared to live competitions), which will be available in both the Teacher and Dancer accounts within approximately 48 hours of the submission.
  6. E-DanceSport uses the scores to calculate rankings on our Global Leaderboard, naming the Dancer, the Studio/School, and the Teacher. EDS Coins and sometimes additional sponsored prizes will be awarded to the top ranked Dancers in each Event Experience Level category, according to the Event details provided.
  7. Studio/Teacher EDS Coins can be redeemed for cash via PayPal when requested by a professional, or to enter future Competitions and Challenges on the platform.  Dancers can also transfer their purchased or won EDS Coins to Teachers to pay for event entries or additional lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each Competition and Challenge will state its price in EDS Coins (which standardize across all countries’ currencies) on the event entry page.  EDS Coins can be bought on the My Account page via PayPal or Credit Card from anywhere.

Typically E-DanceSport Competitions cost 100-200 Coins and Challenges cost 50-100 Coins.

1 EDS Coin is worth 0.20 USD which converts (based on latest foreign exchange rates) to approximately 0.15 GBP, 0.16 EUR,  3 ZAR, 15 INR.

The E-DanceSport Leaderboard sorts first by Experience Level and then by Score within each Level to establish overall rankings.  Rankings can be filtered by Event, Dance Style, Dance Skill, Level, Age Group, Format (number of dancers), or Geographic Region so users can see their rankings in any way they like.
